New year, new me – right? Well, kind of. It’s the start of 2017, and the new year always feels like the right time for change. In my case, it seems like a good time to update my blog.

If you’ve been following my blog at all, you’ll see that it now looks a little different. It’s a lot cuter now – in my opinion – and it now lives at my very own website, mackenziebates.com.

If you’ve been following my blog, you’d also know that there hasn’t been very much to follow lately. I started grad school last fall, and to say that I didn’t have much free time would be an understatement. Blogging quickly took a back seat to reading, and papers, and projects, and everything else going on.

But just as I’ve updated the look of my blog, I’m also vowing to update the content more often. So I’ll be on here this year talking about books, and writing, and probably whatever movies or TV shows I’m watching at the time.

I don’t dare promise to post a specific number of times, because spring semester starts soon, and I don’t want to lie to you fine people. But if you follow my site, I promise to post more than once every five months (*hangs head in shame*).
