Yay winter! I’m really excited about this book tag created by RichardDenney. And thanks to Eve Messenger for tagging me in it!
1. Do you have a favorite winter read?
Anything that’s not a textbook or used to study for finals. I’m kidding (kind of). But seriously, hmm…I don’t think I have a favorite winter read. The idea of winter and Christmas makes me think of my childhood, though, and one of my absolute favorite books as a kid was The Doll People by Ann M. Martin and Laura Godwin.
It’s about this doll family that comes to life when the humans leave the room, and there’s some mystery wrapped up in it, too. It’s a really adorable book.
2. Find a book with blue on the cover!
I love this cover of Distress Signals by Catherine Ryan Howard, and I totally want to read this book. It doesn’t come out until May 2016, and it’s currently only going to be published in the UK and Ireland, so here’s to hoping it eventually makes it’s way to the US as well!
3. Find a book you’d use as the star on a Christmas tree!
This was a hard question, but I have to go with this GEORGEOUS cover of Pride and Prejudice. It’s Barnes and Noble’s Collectible Edition of the book. I will have to get my hands on a copy at some point. I’m in love.
4. Pick one fictional place that would be perfect for a winter vacation!
This is probably a cliché answer, but it’s the first thing that came to mind, so I’m going with Narnia. There’s lots of snow, and I could have tea with Mr. Tumnus.
(Confession: I have not read this series, so I’m basing my answer solely off of the movies.)
5. Pick one fictional character you’d take with you on your winter vacation!
So in the Heist Society series by Ally Carter, this one character goes by Hale. We never know his actual first name, all we know is that his name is W.W. Hale V. I would take him on vacation and spend the entire time trying to convince him to admit his first name. Is it William? Is it Winston? I plan to find out.
6. Name one book on your wish list this year!
Oh, so many books…
One book I want to read is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I read the first few chapters of this book a while ago, and I saw the first movie so I’m aware of the storyline, but I’d like to finish reading it.
7. Favorite holiday drink, treat, & movie?
Christmas movies are a very important topic to me. My all time favorite is Eloise at Christmastime. It’s just too adorable. When I grow up, I want to be Eloise.
And because Christmas movies are such an important topic to me, I’d also like to include my favorite Hallmark Christmas movie (a genre of it’s own, really). It’s called Christmas with Holly. If you haven’t seen it, go watch it right now. It’s precious. I would not lie to you about this.
Alright, that’s all for me!
What are some of the books on your wish list?
Something about you Doll People cover and the story you told about loving it so much as a kid made my heart melt. I will follow your advice and try to find that Hallmark movie. Will it make me cry?

(: Aww, I read that book so many times as a kid. And you should totally watch Christmas with Holly if you can find it! Let me know if you ever do. And yes, there is a definite potential for tears…
