What’s the point?

This week I’ve been focusing on keeping the point of my story in mind. When I’m unsure of what to write, I’ve been asking myself, “Ok, what is it that my main character is supposed to learn?” If I can answer that, then I can use that as a guide for how my character should to act.

For example, one of the lessons my main character begins to learn is that her pride is not always her biggest asset. So if there’s a scene where I’m struggling to figure out her dialogue or I can’t figure out what she’s going to do, if I can remember that she’s supposed to learn a particular lesson, I have a better idea of what to write.

Just something that’s been helping me this week!

(I’m also obsessed with gifs and now aim to find one at least mildly related to each post)
